Terms and Conditions (Regular Class)
This course has been designed mainly for the students of Bhubaneswar and peripheral areas who can benefit from two classes per week. The course is for a period of seven years, culminating in an examination (recognised by the Odisha Sangeet Natak Akademi) which will fetch the student a diploma equivalent to a master's degree in music.
Admission for the new academic year opens in March for the course commencing in April.
Categories & Course Structure:
There are five sections of regular classes, i.e. New Entrants, Sub-Junior (Group 1A), Junior (Group 1B), Intermediate (Group 2A), & Senior (Group 2B).
Classes will be conducted according to the following course structure:
New Entrants: Exercises, Basic Steppings, Basic Theory
Sub-Junior (Group 1A): Steppings (Chowka & Tribhangi), Mangalacharan, Theory
Junior (Group 1B): Batu, Pallavi, Theory
Intermediate (Group 2A): Pallavi, Abhinaya, Theory
Senior (Group 2B): Odissi Repertoire, Theory
All theory and practical classes will be conducted according to the examination syllabus as set by the Odisha Sangeet Natak Akademi. Theory classes are compulsory for all groups.

Group-3 (Nrutya Bhusan Adya & Nrutya Bhusan Purna)
Tuesday & Saturday (6pm to 8pm)
Group-4 (Nrutya Shastri Adya & Nrutya Shastri Purna)
Thursday (6pm to 8pm) & Sunday (8am to 10am)
*Students must reach the dance school 10 minutes before the class.
Admission:
1. An entrance interview is conducted before a student becomes eligible for admission. The student must pass the interview in order to be admitted to their respective class.
2. At the time of admission, each student is to pay INR 3,000 + GST @ 18% towards admission fees plus two months’ tuition fees in advance (non-refundable). If the student does not pay the monthly tuition fees continuously for two months then the above said advance fees would be adjusted against it. After the advance fee is exhausted if a student does not pay the tuition fees then the student's name will be struck off the school rolls. The student may be put back on the rolls by paying the readmission fees alongwith the pending tuition fees. Each student is given a fee card to maintain the fee statements every month and is required to produce the same at the Srjan office at the end of every month while paying the tuition fees.
The application for admission must include:
1. Photocopy of the student’s Date of Birth certificate.
2. Two recent passport size colour photographs with frontal face on a white background, of the student and both parents.
3. Photocopy of the Voter ID, Driving License, Aadhar Card, or Passport of the student.
4. Photocopy of the Voter ID, Driving License, Aadhar Card, or Passport of student’s parents (both father and mother). (Please bring the originals of the above documents for verification)
Payment:
Fees are paid monthly, by the 10th of every month. A fine of INR 10/- will be charged after the 10th of the month. The details of tuition and other fees are given below:
All Groups: INR 800/- per month
Fee Card: INR 25/- (at the time of issue of each fee card)
Admission Form with T&C: INR 10/-
Please note that there will be an additional tax (GST) of 18% on all the above fees.
Attendance:
There will be 2 classes per week, totaling 8 classes per month. Each student's compulsory attendance is 75 out of 88 classes per year. Students will have a summer break during the month of May. If a student's attendance is less than 75 classes a year, then she/he cannot appear in the annual examination. A student must give an application each time she/he is absent from class stating the reason for their absence. Any absence without leave application will result in such days being automatically deducted from the total annual attendance.
Belongings:
Parents should instruct their child to identify their belongings and pack them in their bags before leaving the dance school. A student should not bring any valuables to the school, e.g., gold ornaments, toys, watches, cell phones etc. The dance school will not be responsible for the loss of any of their belongings.
Others:
1. The fee structure and course content are not negotiable. The student or her/his parents must not expect their child to be automatically become eligible for public performances during the course undertaken. Srjan reserves the right to select student(s) for this purpose on merit basis.
2. Any student, of any nationality is strictly prohibited from teaching dance to any individual or group, while undergoing training in the regular classes.
3. All students are strictly prohibited from performing for any dance institution other than Srjan, or at any competition or stage performance; in special cases students may accept solo performances only after receiving the clear consent of the Srjan Director or the authorised nominee.
4. Non-adherence to the above rule might lead to the student being dismissed from Srjan.
5. Srjan’s decision in all matters will be final and binding on all students.
6. All students are required to wear the Srjan uniform (Green Kurta and Yellow Churidar, with Yellow Dupatta) while attending classes.
7. All legal proceedings will be restricted to Bhubaneswar jurisdiction.
