The Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra Purush Dance Festival “Marga Darshana” is an attempt to go beyond the usual annual dance and music festival. The effort is to instill a continuing sense of purpose in the young male dancer, a determination to overcome all odds, to push oneself to the very peak of perfection, time after time, year after year

It is in the memory of this wonderful human being and renowned guru that we wish to remember him on his first death Anniversary (which we have humbly named “Samsmaranam”- in sacred remembrance) which falls on 7th April 2005. This wish to mark the tragic day of his passing has been expressed by many friends, well-wishers, colleagues, and especially many of his beloved students who have dedicated their lives to traditional Odissi dance.
